Like I said yesterday, it feels overwhelming to be honest. The destruction, intentional destruction, on so many levels is overwhelming. There aren’t enough curse words to use when describing Trump and virtually everyone in his inner circle. How many weeks ago did he slap his name on the revered gem that was The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts? The preeminent performing arts center in our nation’s capital. Less than seven weeks, a mere forty-four days, to drive it into the ground and close it. Was it because the Washington Opera bailed? Because the ratings for Trump hosting were abysmal? Because subscribers left in droves?

 

Doesn’t matter. Everything he touches he poisons.

 

I bet that Trump and Miller and the rest of the H8 Administration have at least broached the possibility of doing something to the Lincoln Memorial as well. In their never-ending quest to eliminate all vestiges of DEI or even Black history (e.g., MLK, Jr., Day removed from our National Parks) you know that just like eliminating any memory of JFK, who championed the Civil Rights Act, they would equally revel in eliminating any memory of Lincoln, who freed the people that they hate so much and think beneath them. Does anyone doubt that Stephen Miller and Donald Trump would bring back slavery if they could? Because I don’t, at least based upon every action of this administration toward Blacks and minorities.

 

I’m also guessing that there are meetings at the ACLU and NAACP where they have serious disagreements about what to push back on and which issues to file suit on. The wave after wave of destruction to our constitutional rights, to our civil liberties, and to basic things we took for granted in this country like at least the appearance of equality, are unrelenting.

 

Once Trump is gone there should be a law to remove his name from every public building and street in the country. We should do what Russia did after Stalin when their country distanced itself from his reign of terror. Call it the “Dump Trump Act” or “Set Us Free from DJT Act.”
